Press note
To get the recommendations of wage formulation Committee on revision of pay scales implemented, a joint meeting of PSEB employees’ joint forum, PSEB Engineers Association, council of junior engineers PSEB, general officers Association, Officers (Accounts) Association was held here today
In the meeting the delay in implementation of revised pay scales was condemned and demanded immediate implementation of wage formulation Committee recommendations since central and state government had already implemented the revised scales of its employees.
It was decided to convey the resentment of the employees and officers to the Board management by meeting the Chairman/Board members on 22.9.2009. The recommendations of committee are unanimous report which the Board management had promised to implement within a week and by not implementing the report, the management has failed to keep its commitment to employees/officers.
PSEB is an autonomous body and as per Electricity Supply Act 1948, Board is fully empowered to decide the pay scales and service conditions of its employees and had been revising the pay scales of its employees without any interference from the state government. The stand of the state government representative in the Board to pressurize the Board get the approval of the state government was viewed seriously and strongly condemned by the union leaders. It was decided to oppose such move to undermine the autonomy of the organizations tooth and nail. To chalk out further agitation programme, a joint meeting of all employees’ unions and officers association has been convened on 22.9.2009
The meeting was attended by Pal Singh Moga, Surinder Singh Phelwan, Karamchand Bharadwaj, Harbhajan singh, Faljit Singh, Sawarn Singh, Vijay Kumar, B.S.Sekhon, Brij lal of PSEB Employees joint forum, Er.H.S.Bedi and Er. Bhupinder Singh of PSEB Engineers’ Association, Er. Sukhdev Singh, Er. Devinder Singh of Council of Junior Engineers, Paramjit Singh Bedi of General Officers Association and V.K. Goel of officers (Accounts) Associations
